Greetings….

Have you ever asked yourself…  what you…
and
everything…  and everybody…  around you…  is made
of? Has even once…  ever…
the answer to come back was: ‘The things of
my world are made almost entirely out of love’?

Converning an altogether serious answer, this does
sound a bit on the silly side, doesn’t it?

Or does it?

Because we
all know that many of the things in our human-built
world…
like hate, crime, bigotry, lying (the betrayal of
‘trust’ — which is the very glue of human relations),
racism, misogyny, and
war; and out and across the planet… ‘survival of the
fittest’,
disease, death, and species’ extinctions; and throughout the
heavens above… black holes, thermonucear fission,
exploding stars, and celestial impacts; all suggest
the very real existence of some things that don’t
appear all that loving. But then again, are these
really the things that additively join together to
build much of anything?

What Does it Mean to Say…
We Live in an ‘Emergent‘ Universe . . . .

    "There are two ways in
which you can live your life. One is as though nothing
is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a
miracle."

—Albert Einstein

In the world of physics, a ‘field’ is generally thought
of as a realm of space where a specific manner of
influence is universally present, and that is transmitted
to or conferred upon all manner of entities or phenomena
existing therein. For examples, we might consider the
presence and influence of a gravitational field, or
an electromagnetic field, or a quantum field, as in
the video.

It is this later field that is of particular interest
here, in that it may well yet prove to be the field of
‘things getting along exceedingly well together’…
which, through its agency of ‘Harmonic
Likeness’…
or, when and as it is experienced by us
humans, through love… that subsequently gives
rise to and simultaneously ‘sustains’ all
existence.

.

Indeed, if there is a universal
field underlying all existence, doesn’t it then follow
directly that it might well have something to do with
how well the things of this creation are able to
get on with each other in the ongoing creation of
– now – 13.8 billion years of sustained development
?

"One cannot go contrary to nature. Nature is stronger
than the strongest man. It is to our own interest to be on
good terms with her."
                                        —Picasso

It is for example widely understood that water is made
from two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen, with the former being an extremely
‘explosive’ gas, and the later being an extremely ‘corrosive’ gas. And amidst
their random gaseous wonderings about here and there, it is only when the laws
of nature ‘causally reduce’ them into an harmonious and constructive ‘pairing up’
that we end up with one of Albert Einstein’s ‘miracles’. Truth be told, the actual
(ancient Latin) definition of ‘miracle’ has little or nothing to do with ‘sacred
or divine blessing’ from on high. Rather, what the ancient usage of word miracle
refers to is simply ‘something new and wonderful’.

Now, concerning our
newly minted, so to speak, molecule of water, neither the explosive gas hydrogen,
nor the corrosive gas oxygen, nor the simple addition together of the two — given
their primary defining characteristics — has within or among them the quality ‘
nonexplosive and noncorrosive liquid at room temperature’. So, the question then
becomes, where on earth, or throughout the universe, did ‘nonexplosive and
noncorrosive liquid at room temperature’ come from?

Actually, wouldn’t you agree that it’s all something more akin to a
‘real magician’ pulling a ‘real rabbit’ out of a ‘really empty hat’, or…
perhaps for those who prefer… ‘the something new and wonderful
miracles’
of the early
Latin speakers? Either way, when we step back and realize that basically
everything in our universe that is long-term developmentally essential and
successful — from
Higgs bosons to quarks to atoms to molecules in the primordial realms, and
from single-celled organisms to complex organisms to entire ecosystems here
on earth, and from celestial bodies to solar systems to galaxies in the
heavens above — ARE EACH AND ALL EMERGENT, AND THUS MAGICAL OR MIRACULOUS,
PROPERTIES, Einstein’s miraculous universe would appear to abound in essentially
every direction.

By now you are probably wondering what any and all of this might have to do
with your ‘joining a love train’ each and every time that you vote. Well, as
it turns out, there is indeed yet one exceedingly special ingredient
that is required for any of this to actually work. In the simplest of terms,
it is the ability for ‘things’ — like the hydrogen and oxygen ingredients
that make up water, for example — to posses an
inborn predisposition for getting along
exceedingly well together
. In more technical or ‘scientific’ language,
this required shared quality is called Harmonic Likeness.

And now, zeroing
right in on essentially the whole point of this entire exercise, when we humans find ourselves
getting along exceedingly well together in harmonic likeness ways,
we have an
incredibly special name that we use to describe it. We call it love…. And this explains why,
should you journey far enough — both backward and forward in time and in space —
that you will
find that all along you’ve been living in a universe that’s been made… or more
accurately,
that’s been built or constructed…
almost entirely out of… things getting along exceedingly well together…
in a state of harmonic likeness… or — what we humans call when
we experience
it between each other — love . . . .

From which it follows that: when we join a love train… by voting…
we each and all give rise to the emergence of ‘a something new and
wonderful’
(as per Einstein’s ‘miracles’) with which we can better
love (or not, depending on how we vote and who we vote for):

      a) our deepest inner nature — the life force that resides
      deep within us,
      b) the natural world that’s all around us,
(and upon both of which we are all 100% dependent for each and every
      nanosecond of our existence),
      c) those with whom we most intimately share our lives, and
      d) by extension, the whole of the family of humanity.

In short, when we vote for the very best of what it means for us to be fully
human, then — entirely harmon-iously and constructively — we are joining a
‘voting’ love train
that’s committed to realizing and celebrating the
long-term-sustainable
health, wealth, and well-being of the whole of the family of humanity.
[And yes… we are indeed, all in this together.]

For clarification, it could be reasonably concluded that we live in a
universe that is exceptionally good at two things in particular:
1) keeping itself going, and 2) making itself different. Seemingly,
all else — save but two other phenomena — appears to fit very nicely
into these two ‘uniquely different’ categories. Of the two that ‘do not
fit’, one is when we jointly combine the ‘keeping itself going’ with the
‘making itself different’ in a way in which the former is of a significantly
greater measure than the latter’; and the second is the reverse, where we
jointly combine the two so the latter, the ‘making itself different’,
is of a significantly greater value than the ‘keeping itself going’.

Where Is It That We Go From Here?

"It is my soul that calls upon my name . . . ."
—William Shakespeare

For those among us who are feeling reasonably good about acknowledging that we live in a
universe built almost entirely out of — things getting along exceedingly well
together in harmonic likeness or all-loving… ways
— here’s a few closing
questions to take away with you:

      1. In what manner should we begin exploring our conscious relations with
our deepest inner nature, the life force that resides deep within us at
      the very
      core of our being?
Is it possible that as a species, that we are
      at an entirely new threshold
for what it means to be fully human on planet earth… or at least so
concerning things of our inner essence getting along
exceedingly well together in harmonic likeness… or all-loving ways?
      2. How would you best describe both our current and our projected relations
with our one-and-only home in the universe — the earth biosphere? In other
words, in light of all of the above, and in light of our children’s and
grandchildren’s needs as they venture ever-further into the 21st century
and beyond, what kind of relationship do you believe we should be having
with what is our one-and-only available life-support system? Shouldn’t it
      be widely and
abundantly marked by a deep and profound commitment to our individually and
collectively leaving the biospheric woodpile, so to speak, ever-higher —
and certainly never lower — than we’d all originally found it?
      3. What should be the nature of our relations with those with whom we
most intimately share our lives? Is it possible that nature’s 13.8-billion-
year-old track record of successfully… getting along
exceedingly well together in harmonic likeness… or all-loving ways…

      could
serve us as an exemplary role model?
      4. As representative members of ‘the whole of the family of humanity’?
Given the express — win/win — nature of the universe (multiverse???) in which
we have all come to find ourselves, what type of behaviors would be, both
individually and collectively, in our best interests; and what type of
behaviors would prove to be be, both individually and collectively, the most
damaging? Similarly, what should be the overall tone of our politics?
Negative, accusatory, and dividing, or positive, constructive, and mostly
      consensus
building? In the aggregate — and given the natrure of the universe in which
we’ve all come to find ourselves — what would be in the very best interests
of our children, and by extension, what would in the very best interest of
all the world’s children… and so, for all the hoped-for countless generations
who are yet to come? In following upon the tried-and-proven ways of nature,
      is it an unending search
for the very best possible ways of us all… getting along exceedingly well
together in nothing short of miracle-generating ways,
      or, is it more
in the likeness of a ‘cats-in-the-alley’ fight of name calling, hating, bigotry,
racism, misogyny, lying… and as mortally experienced ever-so tragically just recently in
      America… far, far, worse?

It is for example widely understood that each water molecule
is made from two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen — the first of
which is an extremely explosive gas, and then latter of which is an extremely
corrosive gas, when they are at room temperature. However, when, in their gaseous
wanderings about here and there, they become ‘causally reduced’ through the
governing presence of natural laws into close enough proximity… we
seemingly get one of Einstein’s ‘miracles’ — a nonexplosive, noncorrosive
liquid at room temperature.
Truth be told, rather than as a ‘divine’ gift
from on high, the original (ancient Latin) definition of ‘miracle’ is
something new and wonderful.

How surprised are you at this point to discover that, yes indeed, it’s entirely conceivable that we do live in a universe built almost entirely out of: love — or at a minimum, out of: things getting along exceedingly well together, or, in scientific parlance, out of: harmonic likeness — and thus consequently, out of of exceedingly little else? Which, as it seems, is something that does feel as though it is very close to what we all experience when we are all at our best together.

And in our following on once more from both Einstein and the ancient speakers of Latin, when things are indeed getting along exceedingly well together in harmonic likeness or all loving… ways, what we subsequently end up with as a result — and regardless of whether we are referencing the cosmic, biotic, or human realms of existence — truly is something new and wonderful, or a ‘miracle’… And that it appears as though Albert Einstein was in fact profoundly… even mind-bogglingly… right yet once again… and that we all do appear to live in a universe built out of nothing other than… the miracle of things getting along exceedingly well together . . . .

Can you bring to mind any examples of these two ‘notable’ exceptions. How about ‘sustainable development’, whether cosmic, biotic, or human, for the first instance; and ‘black holes’ for the second. And while we on the subject of ‘black holes’, you might as well consider adding in modern humanity’s current relations with its ‘one-and-only home in the universe — the earth’s biosphere’. You might also consider adding in things like war, crime, and deeply embedded hatred, bigotry, racism, misogyny, lying (which representative of a fundamental betrayal of human trust), and the like. And you might as well consider adding in — unfortunately, and increasingly — much of the the world’s current political climate.

The ‘Harmonic Likeness’ of Falling in Love . . .

"For as all true lovers know, love is perfect
kindness . . . ."
—Guiraut de Borneilh

And what, you might ask, does any of this have to do with our current political crisis? As an answer, do you think it would be at all fair to describe your personal — all loving — experiences as: ‘things (as in, you and your beloved) getting along exceedingly well together’? If that’s a yes, then, would you mind stretching our inquiry just one step further in bringing to bear a key ‘scientific descriptor’ for what ‘one of the most-intuitive minds in all of human history’ was possibly attempting to share here with the rest of the world?

Arguably, the best descriptor available to us from modern science for this phenomenon of… things getting along exceedingly well together… is ‘Harmonic Likeness’. If, for example, you were to fully re-absorb yourself into the memory of one the very best of your all loving moments from your life so far; and specifically, a particular moment when you are your beloved were truly and fully… getting along exceedingly well together… in every way possibly imaginable; and now, by being as honest as you can, how well would you agree that this scientific moniker of harmonic likeness describes your experience?

Is It Possible We All Live in a Universe That’s…
Been Built Almost Entirely Out of Love…
And Thus, Exceedingly Little Else . . . .

"Nature uses only the longest threads to weave her
patterns, so each small piece of her fabric reveals the
organization of the entire tapestry."
—Richard Feynman, The Character of Physical Law
U.S. Nobel Laureate in Physics

Now, I suspect we all generally agree that we live in a universe that has — over time — built itself up out of ‘something’. Indeed, through our studies many of us have become aware of a number of what the various ingredients are when we go more deeply inward, and thus backward, through time, going from our bodies, to living cells, to molecules, to atoms, to nucleons, to quarks, to Higgs bosons, etc.; and also from when we go further outward into space, by going from celestial bodies, to solar systems, to galaxies, and etc. And so, with each and all in its turn — fully and truly — representing the something new and wonderful miracles seemingly referenced in the quote by Albert above.

However, in reflecting back upon your finest-ever all loving moments… with those whom you love to love the most in life… is it possible there might yet be something that essentially all of the universe’s ‘something new and wonderful miracles’ might actually share in common? Might there be a certain universal something that ‘triggers’ or ’empowers’ of their all ‘magically coming into existence’?

Is it possible that ‘something’ might be as simple as… things getting along exceedingly well together… or, more technically, harmonic likeness, or, on a more personal level, our being all loving…? Might it be that the most-basic ingredient out of which everything in this universe that is — long-term healthy, wealthy, and wise — is what we all most-intimately experience when we are experiencing our finest moments together?

In speculating just a tiny bit more ambitiously: is it possible that the very essence of the ‘recently postulated’ multiverse, is just that. That, at its very essence, it is none other than things getting along exceedingly well together… in harmonic likeness… or all loving… ways? And that upon reflection, are we 21st century humans kind of blowing it by not placing enough emphasis on getting along exceedingly well together… in harmonic likeness… or all loving… ways with ‘the earth’s biosphere’ and with ‘each other’ — and most especially so in the generation of our children’s and grandchildren’s future health, wealth, and well-being… and so for the countless generations hopefully yet to come… ?

Yes You Can! Make a Difference . . . .

"What are we if we don’t try to help others? We’re
nothing, we’re nothing at all."
—Dr. Henry Marsh, The English Surgeon

Now, if true†, what then are the implications for us all as we head ever-further into the 21st century?

†[Here’s the challenge to all on the planet who might still be in doubt: Simply start checking around to see if you can identify anything, anything at all, that is of long-term-sustainable ‘constructive’ value, and that hasn’t been built out of things getting along exceedingly well together (and yes, even to include the four fundamental ‘interactions’ or ‘forces’ of nature).]

For those feeling reasonably good about acknowledging we live in a universe built almost entirely out of — things getting along exceedingly well together in harmonic likeness or all loving… ways — here’s a few closing questions to take away with you:

      1. How would you best describe both our current and projected relations with our one-and-only home in the universe — the earth biosphere? In other words, in light of all of the above, and in light of our children’s and grandchildren’s needs as they venture ever-further into the 21st century and beyond, what kind of relationship do you believe we should be having with our one-and-only available life-support system?
      2. What should be the nature of our relations with each other — as representative current members of ‘the whole of the family of humanity’? Given the express — win/win — nature of the universe (multiverse?) in which we have all come to find ourselves, what type of behaviors would be, both individually and collectively, in our best interests; and what type of behaviors would be, both individually and collectively, the most damaging?
      3. What should be the tone of our politics? Is it an unending search for the very best possible ways of us all… getting along exceedingly well together in nothing short of miracle-generating ways, or, a ‘cats-in-the-alley-like’ fight of name calling, hating, bigotry, racism, misogyny, lying… and as unfortunately experienced ever-so tragically just recently in America… far, far, worse?

AS A FEW FINAL WORDS: what is perhaps so immeasurably powerful… and so awesomely beautiful… about this very situation we currently find ourselves in, it is that through the agency of the free will that each and every one of us has as our birthright… that so incredibly much of our destiny… and that of our children’s and grandchildren’s destiny… truly is in our own hands . . . .
